Man's Hand Completely Cut Off in Violent Clifford and Joseph Avenue Attack

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A horrific assault in the city's Clinton Section has left a local resident with catastrophic injuries, according to authorities.
The Rochester Police Department responded to the intersection of Clifford Avenue and Joseph Avenue at approximately 8:20 p.m. Sunday night following reports of a male who had been stabbed.
Severe Injuries Confirmed
Upon arriving at the scene, officers located a 42-year-old male city resident suffering from severe trauma. It has been confirmed that the victim's hand was completely cut off during the violent attack.
The victim was immediately transported to Strong Memorial Hospital (SMH). Despite the fact that his hand was completely severed, officials have determined that his injuries are currently non-life-threatening.
Investigation Underway
Officers and Detectives from the RPD Criminal Investigative Section remain on the scene gathering evidence and interviewing potential witnesses.
No suspects are currently in custody, and a motive for the attack has not yet been released. Police state that further pertinent information will be made available at the conclusion of the investigation.
