ROCHESTER, N.Y. — New York State Senator Jeremy Cooney hosted his 5th Annual End of Summer BBQ and Family Funday today, Saturday, September 12th, bringing hundreds of residents and families together in the Corn Hill neighborhood.


The free event took place from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church parking lot, located at 141 Adams Street.


Designed to celebrate the end of summer while offering direct community support, the gathering featured free food, children's activities, entertainment, and connection to vital local resources.


Highlights of the community day included:

* **Free Food Options:** BBQ meals provided by Big Daddy’s BBQ and jerk chicken from Pop Style International, alongside halal chicken offerings.

* **Family Activities:** Free haircuts, music, interactive games, bounce house fun, and family entertainment supported by 103.9 WDKX.

* **Community Resources:** Over 40 local non-profits, government agencies, law enforcement representatives, and healthcare organizations providing direct outreach to neighborhood families.


The annual initiative was sponsored by EarnIn, BusPatrol, 103.9 WDKX, and local community partners working to ensure area youth and families start the fall season connected and supported.
