LATE-NIGHT SHOOTING UNDER INVESTIGATION ON S. PLYMOUTH AVENUE

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police are investigating a late-night shooting that left one man injured on the city’s southwest side.

At approximately 10:45 PM tonight, officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 800 block of S. Plymouth Avenue, near Fenwick Street. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

First responders quickly applied a trauma tourniquet at the scene to control the bleeding before emergency personnel transported the victim to Strong Memorial Hospital. Authorities state the victim’s injuries are currently considered non-life-threatening.

A large police presence remains in the area as investigators and technicians comb the scene for evidence. No suspects are currently in custody, and the motive for the shooting is under investigation.

Rochester Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward and call 911 or the Criminal Investigation Section.
