Armed suspect gets shot and killed by police on West Main Street

RPD kills man robbing Family Dollar
On Wednesday night just before 10:00pm the Rochester Police Department responded to the Family Dollar located on West Main Street for a male who was attempting to rob the store.
Officers arrived on scene and came into contact with a male with a gun. During the contact, officers shot the male, killing him.
The incident is still under investigation and the area of West Main Street between Lamberton and Jefferson are closed off.
The Rochester Police Department is asking people to avoid the area while they continue the investigation.
