Fire crews rescue dog, contain single-room house fire on Wellington Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester firefighters successfully contained a residential fire and rescued a family pet on Wellington Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene at approximately 1:45 PM following reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered smoke pouring from the home.

Crews quickly entered the building and discovered that the fire was contained to a single room of the house. First responders were able to safely rescue one dog from inside the structure.

Authorities confirmed that all occupants made it out of the home safely, and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. GSL News will provide updates as more information is released by fire officials.
