Police investigating daytime shooting after victim drives himself to Lake Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police are investigating a daytime shooting that left one man injured Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to the intersection of Lake Avenue and Riverside Street around 3:50 PM following reports of a male who had been shot. Upon arrival, emergency crews located the wounded man.

During the preliminary investigation, police discovered that the shooting actually occurred near the intersection of Dewey Avenue and Magee Avenue. After being shot, the victim drove himself to the Lake Avenue and Riverside Street location, where police and EMS were called.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, no suspects are in custody and the investigation remains active. Authorities are asking anyone with information about this incident to step forward and call 911.
