Motivational speaker, author, and consultant Andre Norman joined GSL News to discuss his extraordinary life journey from serving a 100-year prison sentence to earning a prestigious fellowship at Harvard University.
Known globally as "The Ambassador of Hope," Norman opened up about his past as a top gang leader within the maximum-security prison system. After spending two years in solitary confinement, Norman experienced a profound realization that he was the king of nowhere, prompting a definitive decision to completely transform his life.
Over the next eight years while incarcerated, Norman dedicated himself to self-education, studying for 20 hours a day. He taught himself to read, earned his GED, mastered legal strategies to successfully appeal his case, and actively participated in anger management and personal development programs.
Following his release after serving 14 years, Norman immediately dedicated his life to community mentorship and violence reduction, eventually earning a fellowship at Harvard University. Today, through his organization Second Chance University, Norman travels internationally to consult for executive groups, prison systems, and non-profits, providing a proven framework for personal accountability, leadership, and redemption.
