A new chapter for downtown baseball has arrived as Monroe County and the Rochester Red Wings officially rename their stadium ESL Ballpark. The agreement with ESL Federal Credit Union, a local cornerstone founded by George Eastman in 1920, replaces the facility’s previous identity as Innovative Field.
The partnership unites two of the region's most storied organizations. The Red Wings, the oldest continuously operating minor league franchise in North America, and ESL, the area's largest locally-led financial institution, both share deep roots in the community. Rochester Community Baseball CEO Naomi Silver described the deal as a reflection of shared values and a humbling nod to the city's history.
Pending final approval from the Monroe County Legislature, the name change is already taking physical shape with new signage being installed. County Executive Adam Bello emphasized that this public-private partnership is a key driver for downtown revitalization, ensuring the stadium remains a vibrant hub for years to come.
Fans can experience the newly rebranded ESL Ballpark for the first time during the 2026 Home Opener on March 31, when the Red Wings host the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
