ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A heavy law enforcement presence is currently active on Rochester's northeast side after a shooting left one person injured late Tuesday evening.

Details remain fluid, but preliminary reports indicate that the incident occurred around 9:55 PM near the intersection of Conkey Avenue and Avenue D. It is currently unclear whether officers were drawn to the location by emergency 911 calls from neighbors or if officers patrolling the immediate area heard the gunfire and discovered the scene.

Upon arrival, responders located one victim who had been struck by gunfire. Emergency medical personnel treated the individual at the scene before transport. Authorities have confirmed that the victim's injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

A large perimeter has been established, blocking off the intersection with crime scene tape as investigators look for physical evidence and interview potential witnesses.

No suspect descriptions have been released, and no arrests have been made at this hour.

This is a rapidly developing situation. GSL News is gathering more information on the ground and will update this story as official details are released by the Rochester Police Department.
