Hundreds of neighborhood residents, civic organizations, and local business groups gathered early Saturday morning for the city's annual Clean Sweep initiative, officially breaking previous registration numbers to secure the largest volunteer turnout in the event's history.

The city-wide beautification campaign commenced at the downtown ballpark, where participants assembled to receive municipal supplies, documentation, and regional site assignments. Teams of volunteers deployed across multiple city quadrants to clear winter debris, remove illegally dumped refuse, plant seasonal greenery, and sweep localized commercial corridors. The massive, collaborative effort highlights a growing sense of neighborhood pride and civic investment across the Rochester community.

Mayor Malik Evans joined the crowds at the stadium to assist with equipment distribution and express gratitude for the historic turnout. During his opening remarks to the crowd, Evans emphasized the impact of grassroots participation, stating, "I want to thank the people for coming out and supporting this."

Following the conclusion of the neighborhood cleanup operations, volunteers returned to the stadium to celebrate their hard work with a complimentary afternoon Rochester Red Wings baseball game.
