The historic auditorium at East High School was filled with energy as local non-profit organization ROC Royal Inc. hosted the highly anticipated 2026 Step Off Reunion showcase.
Founded in 2018 by prominent community leader Khadija Yawn, ROC Royal Inc. designed the large-scale weekend event to celebrate the rich history of step culture in Western New York while providing a positive platform for regional youth. The reunion brought together classic local step teams, collegiate Greek organizations, and independent performance groups to showcase intricate synchronized footwork, complex rhythms, and high-energy choreography.
The successful production serves as an extension of ROC Royal's continuous commitment to youth mentorship, social-emotional development, and education throughout the Rochester area. Following a strong community turnout from families, alumni, and local arts supporters, organization leaders noted that the annual showcase remains a vital tool for fostering cultural pride and building safe, empowering spaces for young people across the city.
