Rochester firefighters are on the scene of a heavy, fully involved house fire on Loomis Street, just off Joseph Avenue on the city's northeast side.
Emergency crews responded to the residential block shortly after flames broke out, arriving to find thick smoke and heavy fire pouring from the structure. Multiple fire apparatus have positioned along the corridor as interior and exterior attack teams work to prevent the intense flames from spreading to closely situated neighboring properties.
At this hour, the scene remains highly active, and secondary searches of the structure are being conducted as conditions permit. Fire officials have not yet confirmed if the home was occupied at the time the blaze erupted or if any civilian or first responder injuries have occurred. Motorists are advised to completely avoid the Loomis Street and Joseph Avenue area to allow heavy emergency vehicles clear access to the scene.
