40th annual Carifest takes over MLK Park with Caribbean music, food, and live performances
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Following a vibrant morning parade through downtown, the 40th anniversary Carifest celebration has officially taken over Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park at Manhattan Square.
Organized by the [Rochester West Indian Festival Organization (RWIFO)](https://www.cityofrochester.gov/events/carifest-parade-festival-2026), the milestone festival brings Western New York’s largest Caribbean cultural showcase to the heart of Rochester.
Parkgoers and families are enjoying a full afternoon of Caribbean traditions, featuring:
* Live musical performances headlined by international artists Spragga Benz and Skinny Fabulous.
* Authentic Caribbean food vendors serving traditional island cuisine.
* Cultural craft displays, local merchandise vendors, and family-friendly activities.
* Live dance performances and music playing reggae, soca, and calypso rhythms throughout the grounds.
The afternoon park festivities follow Friday evening's J'Ouvert celebration and Saturday morning’s parade along Main Street, capping off a landmark weekend honoring Caribbean heritage across the region.
