Firefighters battle evening house fire at Sixth Street and Central Park

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Fire Department crews responded to a reported house fire near the intersection of Sixth Street and Central Park shortly before 7:00 PM on Tuesday.


First arriving firefighters encountered visible smoke and flames coming from the structure and quickly initiated an aggressive attack to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to neighboring homes.


Search teams swept the property, and authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported among residents or firefighters on the scene.


Crews remained in the area for several hours extinguishing hot spots, venting smoke, and securing the building. The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation by fire investigators.
