Gunfire erupts near Baden Park basketball courts; organizers condemn violence
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police responded to reports of shots fired near the Baden Park basketball courts on Vienna Street at approximately 2:30 PM today.
Witnesses on scene reported that individuals standing outside the event perimeter fired multiple rounds toward the area before fleeing.
Despite multiple shots being fired near the crowded basketball courts, officials confirmed that no injuries were reported. Responding officers secured the perimeter, searched the area for physical evidence, and spoke with witnesses.
Leadership from the Hood 2 Hood organization spoke out following the incident, clarifying that the gunfire was completely unrelated to their community event and calling on neighborhood residents to put an end to gun violence.
No suspect descriptions have been released, and no arrests have been made at this time.
