Little Italy Festival brings Italian food, music, and culture to Ontario Beach Park in Charlotte
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Ontario Beach Park in Charlotte was transformed into a bustling hub of Italian culture, cuisine, and community celebration today as the annual DeCecco Little Italy Festival took over the Rochester waterfront.
Set against the backdrop of Lake Ontario and the Port of Rochester Marina, the family-friendly festival brought together residents and visitors from across Western New York to honor over 150 years of Italian-American heritage in the region.
Festivalgoers enjoyed a packed day of lakeside activities and cultural traditions, including:
* Italian Cuisine & Drinks: Authentic dishes served up by local restaurants and vendors, alongside Italian beer and wine offerings.
* Live Entertainment: All-day musical performances on stage, highlighted by a headline performance by "America's Got Talent" finalist and Grammy nominee Sal "The Voice" Valentinetti.
* Community Events: A popular spaghetti-eating contest, children's activities, and a showcase of classic Italian sports cars, including Ferraris and Alfa Romeos.
* Cultural Tribute: A special prayer ceremony recognizing Saint Anthony of Padua and celebrating Rochester's Historic Little Italy District.
Organizers noted that bringing the festival to Charlotte allows families to enjoy both the rich cultural tradition and the beachfront amenities at Ontario Beach Park.
