ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Neighborhood families, local business owners, and community members gathered along the Lyell Avenue corridor today for the Lyell Avenue Music and Culture Festival.
Organized by the Lyell Avenue Business Association, the free, daylong event ran from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM along Lyell Avenue, stretching between Whitney Street and Child Street.
Designed to highlight the creative talent and diverse traditions of Rochester's west side, the street festival featured:
* Live musical performances from local bands and artists across multiple genres
* Food vendors serving local dishes and refreshments
* Displays and goods from local artisans, businesses, and neighborhood creators
* On-site community resource tables connecting residents with family services and local support programs
Community leaders and organizers emphasized the role of neighborhood cultural festivals in strengthening unity, driving foot traffic to local businesses, and providing engaging, safe events for area youth and families.
