Police respond to evening shooting on Arbutus Street; victim hospitalized

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police officers responded to reports of a shooting on Arbutus Street at approximately 7:00 PM on Monday.


Upon arrival, officers secured the area and located one individual suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.


Police cordoned off portions of Arbutus Street as investigators worked to collect evidence, search for shell casings, and canvas the surrounding neighborhood for potential witnesses or security camera footage.


No suspect description or motive has been released, and no arrests have been made at this time.
