Roc Royal Foundation hosts Back 2 School Giveaway at School 16; East Side event set in two weeks
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Hundreds of students and families gathered at Dr. David & Ruth B. Anderson School No. 16 on Post Avenue today for the Roc Royal Foundation's Back 2 School Giveaway & Wellness Affair.
The Southwest Rochester event brought together local sponsors, community vendors, and volunteers to help local youth gear up for the upcoming academic year.
Attendees received a wide array of free resources and services, including:
* Free bookbags filled with essential school supplies
* School uniforms and complimentary haircuts
* Health screenings and wellness workshops for parents and students
* Live music, food, and family activities
Organizers confirmed that today's event at School No. 16 is part of an ongoing community drive. The Roc Royal Foundation will head to Rochester’s East Side in two weeks to distribute hundreds of additional bookbags and supplies to ensure neighborhood families are prepared for the school year.
